• Question: do you want your son to be a scientist?

      I don’t mind. I’d like him to be happy and healthy. It sounds cliché but it’s really true. I guess because I work in science and his dad is an engineer at Rolls Royce it’s likely that he’ll hear a lot about it.
      At the moment his biggest obsession is balls. Tennis balls, foot balls, rugby balls… He’s only 1 and a bit, so only the future will tell!

    Well I have two sons, the older one is finishing a computer science course and has a job lined up in IT, so that involves a lot of science, although I guess he wouldn’t call himself scientist – the point is that science is a part of sooo many jobs.

    My younger son is still at school and I’m keen for him to get a job that, on a Monday morning when his alarm clock goes off, he wakes up being happy to go to work, rather than dreading it. That means I hope he has an interesting job. There’s loads of interesting jobs, but ones which involve science certainly are interesting!
