Yes – the university has been closed! I’m working from home, which I’m currently enjoying, but that novelty might wear off!
All of my work is done on a computer anyway so my actual work I need to do hasn’t changed.

It is. We’ve been asked to work from home, so I can’t do any lab work. I have a long experiment running in the lab (basically it’s held at a hot temperature for about a week) but I think I’ll have to go in to turn it off soon as the building will probaby close for the next couple of weeks. I’m writing my thesis (like a big report of my whole PhD) so I’m lucky that I can do that at home. In fact, I’m probably getting on better because I can’t decide to go to the lab instead!
Yep, they’ve asked all staff and students to work at home where they can, and they’re officially closing all of the research labs as of this Friday. Some of my research involves lab work – looking at insect specimens and identifying them – so this won’t be able to take place for a while. But it’s a good opportunity to get some writing done that I’ve been putting off for a while…
